A Spark Ignites

In 2020, I lived through a pandemic. As I type this, this still sounds unbelievable. We have all had to make changes we never could have imagined. If I never hear the words….pivot and new norm…it will be too soon. In the scheme of it all, my family and I have remained healthy, so I have much to be grateful for.

Like everyone else, we heard cancelled, CANCELLED, cancelled. No kids’ soccer games on the weekends. Festivals..cancelled. Summer adventure road trip…nope.

One saving grace….hiking. We started off exploring different parks in and around Milwaukee. Maxie, our rescue pup, has been just as excited about exploring new trails! THEN, we began trying new segments of the Ice Age Trail. I felt a spark. We would comb through the IAT Guidebook. We followed the Ice Age Trail Facebook group and would get new ideas looking at the hikers’ pictures and posts. All of a sudden I was planning adventures again!

My passion for hiking was ignited.

21 IAT hikes in 2020, multiple local and state parks explored…my spark…ignited.

I hope you enjoy my many Tails from the Trails. Who knows…maybe you will even feel a flicker?!

Cheers!
