Ellen Explores WI Parks

Southeast Wisconsin is chock full of parks! My town, Whitefish Bay and Milwaukee are located right on Lake Michigan. I gravitate towards parks by the lake because it is just so vast and looks different every time I see it.

Ellen Explores the IAT

The IAT is 1 of 11 National Scenic Trails in the whole country, making Wisconsin proud. You may be wondering why it’s called the Ice Age Trail…well, over 12,000 years ago, Wisconsin was covered in a huge glacier flow.

Our trip to Boone, NC delivered on Views and Brews! Hikes included Rouge Ridge (a shorter hike up to a fabulous view), Boone Fork Trail (loop Trail—we happened to be there when the Mountain Laurel trees were blooming + the trail took us by water and over water with many falls along the way) and finally Roan Highlands at Carvers Gap gave us views upon views the whole hike. @lostprovince brewery served up great beers right in downtown Boone, @appalachianmountainbrewery served up an awesome Hazy IPA (Hilly Haze) and had an awesome outdoor patio, @booneshinebrew is worth the short drive with a huge outdoor patio area. Cheers to Boone! 🍻
We hit Ice Age Trail Loew Lake segment at a perfect time to see some of the prairie blooming. So thankful for this long weekend! Happy 4th of July! 🇺🇸
What an absolutely perfect day for a hike! West Bend is one of our favorites. Our pup spotted a muskrat by the water...a new find for us. Cheers to the unofficial start of summer!🍻
Great walk yesterday by the lake, tons of Trillium flowers. Lions Den is up on a bluff, so you can follow the lake mist if the hike. There are also other trails that go through forest, past a pond, etc.
Feels like spring has finally sprung! Great day on the Trail on one of my favorite segments. It felt awesome to be back out there today!☀️
What better way to spend a Saturday than a hike on a sunny day, then popped over to @3sheepsbrewing for a couple well deserved brewskis. Cheers!🍻
